System Engineer Mainframe / z/OS

Project overview

The main function of this position lies in the administration and support of test systems in the Mainframe/IBM area within the financial sector, with a particular focus on the optimization and automation of processes. The System Engineer ensures that the systems run efficiently and also supports internal teams in providing test environments.

• Administration and operation of test systems in the Mainframe/IBM area.
• Optimization and automation of installation and process flows using scripting.
• Provision of technical 2nd and 3rd level support.
• Collaboration with internal contacts from DevSecOps teams and the test environment.
• Ensuring daily batch processing.
• Independent work and identification of areas for action after familiarization.
• Support in technical exchange for the provision of test environments.
• Completed studies in (Business) Informatics or comparable qualification/many years of relevant experience.
• Several years of professional experience in the IBM Mainframe, z/OS area (possibly with TWS, JCL, REXX).
• Experience in script creation and working with databases (DB2 and possibly Oracle, including SQL).
• Fluent German (at least C1 level) and good English (B2 level).
• Experience with agile methods.
• High communication and teamwork skills.
• Enjoyment of working in a cross-location team.
• incl. willingness to work overtime if necessary

• Location: Munich/Aschheim with a remote component by arrangement
• Team: Agile Tribe in Banking.
• Flexible hybrid working possible.
• Start: From mid-November or early December (not later) full-time at regular 38h/week
• Duration: Until the end of the year with quarterly extensions
