Technical Business Analyst – Avaloq / Core Banking / Data Integration

Project overview

For a long-term project in the banking environment, we are looking for a Technical Business Analyst with sound experience in core banking systems, especially Avaloq.

The focus is on analyzing and integrating data processing pipelines, mapping interfaces, and functional quality assurance across various banking domains as part of the expansion of an existing banking system landscape.

We are looking for experts who understand both banking-specific contexts and technical data structures and integration architectures.

Responsibilities

• Technical business analysis within the scope of expanding an existing core banking and system landscape
• Analysis and evaluation of existing data integration architectures and data processing pipelines
• Recording, analysis, and documentation of functional and technical requirements for interfaces and data flows
• Creation and validation of interface mappings, data field assignments, and functional transformation rules
• Analysis of data flows between Avaloq and connected or downstream systems
• Functional quality assurance and execution of tests for data processing pipelines
• Creation of test cases, test scenarios, and functional acceptance criteria
• Analysis and evaluation of data quality, data consistency, and error patterns
• Support in identifying and resolving integration and data processing errors
• Close collaboration with business departments, IT architecture, development, test management, and other project stakeholders
• The functional data processing pipelines include the following domains, among others:
• Lending business
• Securities business
• Securitizations
• Derivatives
• Customer and master data

Requirements

• Several years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, IT Business Analyst, or in a comparable role in the banking environment
• Sound understanding of core banking systems and banking-specific data processing processes
• Practical experience with Avaloq and its integration into complex banking system landscapes
• Experience in analyzing data integration architectures, interfaces, and cross-system data flows
• Experience with interface mapping, data field assignments, and functional transformation rules
• Experience in functional quality assurance and testing of data integration or data processing pipelines
• Ability to translate functional requirements into technical specifications and comprehensible test cases
• Very good analytical and communication skills

We are explicitly looking for a technically proficient Business Analyst with in-depth banking know-how, who is confident at the interface between business departments, IT architecture, data integration, and quality assurance.

Candidates who have already participated in the integration of Avaloq into existing banking system landscapes and can analyze and test functional data flows across multiple systems are of particular interest.

• Experience with multiple banking domains, such as loans, securities, securitizations, derivatives, or customer master data
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases for data analysis and validation
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes, data warehousing, or integration platforms
• Experience with data quality checks, data reconciliation, and end-to-end testing
• Knowledge of Avaloq data models and Avaloq-specific interfaces
• Experience in transformation or expansion projects of core banking landscapes
