Job description

As a Site Supervisor, you will be the project manager's eyes and ears on the construction site, representing the client (RET). You will oversee construction and installation activities, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to contract, schedule, and budget.

Project overview

As a Site Supervisor, you are the absolute 'eyes and ears' of the project manager on the construction site and represent RET as the client.

You have a strong practical approach and in-depth technical knowledge of construction and installations.

The project manager and contract manager are responsible for formal, contractual, and financial decision-making. You are responsible for operational control and external quality and safety checks.

What will you do?

Who are you?

Within RET, specialized expertise and daily execution come together around a recognizable social or business assignment. In addition to substantive quality, predictable execution, information security, and good process design are important. Professionals work at RET together with teams for information provision, legal affairs, finance, HR, procurement, and communication.

Changes in systems or regulations therefore usually have a direct impact on multiple parts of RET. The development of RET is partly determined by technological innovation, changing regulations, and the need for accessible and transparent service delivery. Collaboration with chain partners helps to implement these changes within RET in a coherent manner.

This means that employees within RET must constantly switch between substantive quality, practical execution, and collaboration with the environment. RET has an Engineering Bureau and works on projects for the new construction, renovation, and maintenance of stations, stops, depots, passenger facilities, and associated buildings and installations.

  • You will supervise the work during the preparation and execution phases.
  • You will provide integrated management of structural, constructional, and building-related installation activities.
  • You will monitor the contract, schedule, budget, quality, and safety.
  • You will identify bottlenecks between design and execution and initiate appropriate solutions.
  • You will advise the project team, both solicited and unsolicited, from the final design/preliminary design phase through to completion and aftercare.
  • You will work closely with the project manager, contract manager, design teams, managers, internal specialists, and contractors.
  • You have extensive experience with site supervision and oversight during the realization phase of utility construction and/or infrastructure projects.
  • You are accustomed to working in a complex, operational environment.
  • You take into account the continuity of public transport operations and the minimization of disruption.
  • HBO (higher professional education) work and thinking level, demonstrated by a relevant construction, civil engineering, or comparable education.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience as a Site Supervisor and/or Senior Supervisor during the realization phase of complex utility construction and infrastructure projects. With at least 2 demonstrable projects described.
  • Demonstrable, extensive experience working under UAV contract conditions.
  • Demonstrable experience with contract management, construction site coordination, change management, acceptance, and handover.
  • Experience with at least 3 multidisciplinary projects involving structural and building-related installation disciplines.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of relevant building regulations, quality assurance, and health and safety regulations.
  • Good oral and written command of the Dutch language.
  • VCA-VOL, DVP
  • Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including the Environmental Act, the Buildings Decree, and labor laws.
  • Knowledge of relevant NEN standards and regulations for structural engineering, fire safety, and building installations, as applicable to the project.
  • Familiarity with UAV/UAV-GC, RAW, and/or other relevant contract forms.
  • You have experience with Systems Engineering and V&V methodology (such as Briefbuilder) and the traceable management of requirements, objects, verifications, and delivery information.
