Project overview
The assignment involves performing financial control activities and supporting the annual accounts procedure within the municipality of Groningen.
Profile of the suited interim professional:
- Checking specifications and underlying substantiation of balance sheet items for the audit
- Participating in the preparation of the annual accounts documents
- Handling questions from the auditor and checking the answers before they are submitted
- Performing independent internal controls on processes such as SiSA reporting, parking, secondment revenues, rental of movable property, taxes, and revenues from Iederz
- Checking journal entries during the year-end closing
- Answering technical BBV (Budgetary Principles Decree) questions from financial advisors and directors
- Supporting the process surrounding the legality statement
- Extensive, relevant experience in accountancy or (specialized) internal control
- Good knowledge of municipal finance and the BBV
- Able to provide an opinion on legality and faithfulness independently or together with a senior advisor
