Business Analyst - Fleet Forward – Transformation & Data Migration

Project overview

A renowned company in the mobility and logistics sector is replacing its long-standing fleet management system with a modern, modular system landscape as part of a major program. The core of the target architecture is a future-oriented leasing and fleet management platform that will be integrated with CRM, ERP, and financial systems; interfaces exist, among others, to the group-wide SAP S/4HANA implementation. The introduction will take place in several waves; go-live is planned for July 2028.

The goal of this request is to commission consulting and implementation services for the functional, methodological, and technical transformation of the fleet management landscape, as well as for the migration of relevant master, transactional, contract, asset, and customer data from the legacy systems into the target system landscape. The services are requested as a cohesive service package "Transformation & Data Migration".

The focus is on providing defined services and work results in two service areas, each requiring a key role: Service Area 1 – Fleet Transformation & Governance: Key Role Fleet Transformation Consultant. Service Area 2 – Data Migration: Key Role Lead Data Migration Expert. Bundling reduces interface risks between functional transformation and data migration and ensures consistent alignment between target processes, target architecture, data objects, migration logic, and go-live planning.

• Analysis and evaluation of existing fleet management processes along the complete fleet lifecycle and development of recommendations for their further development
• Conception and description of target functional processes for vehicle configuration, ordering, procurement, delivery management, driver management, contract management, damage management, maintenance and service, and remarketing or vehicle return
• Development of a target functional vision for the future fleet management landscape
• Conception of a governance model including functional standards and decision-making and escalation mechanisms
• Creation and maintenance of a cross-workstream functional planning and dependency overview for the program's parallel workstreams
• Consulting on the functional integration of fleet, CRM, ERP, and financial processes into the target architecture and creation of functional contributions to integration and implementation concepts
• Execution of functional consistency checks between process design, system conception, and implementation planning, including documentation of deviations and proposed solutions
• Identification, evaluation, and documentation of functional risks, dependencies, and escalation issues, as well as maintenance of the associated measures overview
• Preparation, moderation, and follow-up of functional workshops and decision-making meetings with business departments, IT, service providers, implementation partners, and software vendors
• Creation of management and decision-making templates ready for decision-making
• German language proficiency (C1)
• Professional experience in transformation or IT projects in the area of fleet management, leasing, or mobility services (min. 7 years)
• Functional responsibility in projects with a fleet of more than 10,000 passenger cars (number of references 2)
• Experience in managing multiple parallel project teams or workstreams within a transformation program (min. 7 years)
• Experience across the complete fleet lifecycle: vehicle configuration, ordering, procurement, delivery management, driver management, contract management, damage management, maintenance and service, remarketing or vehicle return (number of references 1)
• Experience in a project integrating fleet, CRM, ERP, and financial systems (number of references 1)
• Experience in defining, establishing, and ensuring functional standards, governance structures, and target processes (number of references 2)
• Experience with standard software for vehicle leasing/fleet management that integrates contract creation, contract management, billing, and contract end (number of references 1)
