About the organization

For a leading financial service provider within the Dutch banking sector, we are looking for a Financial Accounting & Process Analyst – Payments & Settlements.

The organization is a major player in Dutch payment traffic and is currently undergoing a large-scale transformation. Financial processes and activities are being transferred to an external service provider.

Within the Finance team, you will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to both daily financial operations and the design and optimization of future accounting processes.

What will you do?

In this versatile role, you will combine Financial Accounting with Business & Process Analysis. Your activities are divided into two main parts.

Financial Accounting & Operations (50%)

Business & Process Analysis (50%)

• Performing and analyzing daily financial reconciliations.
• Checking and processing settlements and payment flows.
• Identifying and investigating discrepancies in financial postings.
• Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
• Supporting daily accounting activities within the Finance team.
• Guiding the transition of financial accounting processes to an external service provider.
• Mapping and comparing existing and future accounting structures.
• Analyzing payment flows, booking processes, and reconciliation processes.
• Critically evaluating new process designs and advising on improvements.
• Participating in the design and implementation of financial controls, work instructions, and booking processes.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders within Finance, Operations, and external parties.
• A completed HBO or WO degree in Finance, Accounting, or a comparable field.
• Approximately 5 years of relevant work experience in Financial Accounting, Finance Operations, or a similar role.
• Demonstrable experience with reconciliations, settlements, and payment traffic.
• Preferably experience within financial services or payment traffic.
• Experience with process analysis, process mapping, or financial transformation projects.
• Experience with migrations, implementations, or outsourcing projects is a strong plus.
• Excellent command of the Dutch language.
• A challenging assignment of 36 hours per week.
