GIS Techno-Functional Lead

Project overview

The GIS Functional-Technical Lead acts as the link between business, end-users, and technical teams.

This profile supports the daily operation of the GIS team and ensures that functional needs are timely translated into concrete solutions. The role includes both content guidance and operational coordination. The team lead supports the organization in adopting new GIS technologies such as Utility Network, Feature Services, and modern web applications. He or she organizes workshops, guides users, and ensures smooth communication between all parties involved.

In addition, the profile helps develop business requirements into functional specifications and monitors their realization within the project team. The GIS Lead supports incident management, performance issues, and functional analyses.

He or she collaborates with other application teams to resolve integration issues and operational problems. Furthermore, the team lead monitors the planning and priorities of the GIS team and translates strategic roadmap items into concrete work packages. User feedback is actively collected and converted into improvement initiatives. The role also includes supporting the rollout of thematic maps and GIS portal functionalities. Thanks to a good understanding of both business processes and the technical context, the GIS Lead can clearly explain complex matters to various stakeholders.

The role requires strong organizational skills, a coaching mindset, and the ability to guide organizational changes. This profile ensures efficient collaboration between business and IT and actively contributes to the success of the GIS transformation.

Remote working is possible, with a presence of 3 days a week on-site. The customer is located in Ghent.
