IT Project Manager [Infrastructure & Data Centre]

Project overview

We are looking for a Senior IT Project Manager with a focus on technical infrastructure, who has at least 5 years of experience in managing complex data-centre, network, or systems infrastructure projects.

Project requirements

• End-to-end management of two mission-critical infrastructure transformation initiatives supporting high-availability 24/7 systems for energy and commodity trading
• planning of migration and recabling of 300+ bare-metal servers, infrastructure appliances, and other physical targets with an emphasis on availability and minimizing unplanned downtime
• coordination of complex technical dependencies across network, server, storage/backup, security, and data-center areas in an international enterprise environment
• creation and ongoing management of detailed milestone-driven project plans, resource allocation, and critical-path schedules
• preparation of detailed migration and cutover plans, including runbooks, rollback strategies, and contingency procedures
• coordination of collaboration across legal entities, IT product areas, infrastructure and operations teams, and external suppliers
• management of dependencies on infrastructure changes, hardware deliveries, network infrastructure, data-center facilities, and external cabling contractors
• identification of architectural bottlenecks, cross-team dependencies, infrastructure risks, and potential impacts on service availability
• change management in an environment with high demands on operational stability and controlled change deployment
• stakeholder management towards technical teams, infrastructure management, and IT leadership
• preparation of data-driven status reporting, KPI tracking, escalations, and executive-level overviews
• collaboration takes place in a hybrid mode, initially a minimum of 2 days per week onsite in Prague, after the initial phase, more remote work is possible
• minimum of 5 years of commercial experience in technical/infrastructure project management with responsibility for end-to-end delivery
• demonstrable experience in leading extensive data-centre, network, or systems infrastructure projects
• practical experience with infrastructure migration or transformation in high-availability or other mission-critical enterprise environments
• advanced ability to manage technical dependencies, risks, and stakeholders across multiple infrastructure and operations teams
• professional English for daily communication, project management, reporting, and negotiations with technical and senior stakeholders
• advanced practical experience with:
• Infrastructure project management in the area of data centers, networks, and/or system infrastructure
• Migration and cutover planning, including detailed execution plans, runbooks, rollback and contingency scenarios
• project planning including milestones, critical path, resource allocation, dependencies, and delivery risks
• Cross-functional coordination of network, server, storage/backup, security, operations, and data-center teams
• Risk and dependency management in an environment with high availability and operational continuity requirements
• Stakeholder management in a complex matrix organization, including communication towards IT leadership
• technical communication enabling the translation of infrastructure limitations, dependencies, and risks into understandable executive-level outputs
• experience with:
• Layer 2 / Layer 3 networking at the level required for managing network infrastructure projects and dependencies
• physical data-center infrastructure, especially rack/cable management and recabling
• Bare-metal and server lifecycle migrations or similar physical infrastructure changes
• Enterprise storage and backup architecture, including principles of immutable snapshots and air-gapped storage
• Change management and ITIL processes
• coordination of external technology suppliers and infrastructure contractors
• Advantages:
• experience from Capital Markets, FinTech, stock/trading environments, Energy/Commodities, Telecommunications, or similar mission-critical 24/7 environments
• experience with trading or post-trading systems
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification
• knowledge of German
