IT Security Engineer – EDR Rollout and Operations Transfer

Project overview

For a demanding customer project, we are looking for an experienced IT Security Engineer to support the rollout and operational transfer of an EDR solution (Endpoint Detection and Response). The project runs from May to December 2026 and includes up to 96 person-days, with 3-4 days per week.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for the structured rollout of EDR agents to approximately 6,000 client endpoints and 1,000 servers, carried out in pilot, wave, and mass rollout phases. A focus will be on continuous tuning of the solution, particularly the analysis and processing of false positive alerts. You will design and create a sustainable policy structure (detection, prevention, and exclusion policies) for ongoing operation and document all processes in operational documentation and runbooks. Furthermore, you will coordinate the handover to the SOC and operations teams and liaise with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

You bring several years of professional experience as an IT Security Engineer, ideally in enterprise environments with over 5,000 endpoints. Proven project experience in the rollout and operation of EDR/XDR solutions is required. You have sound knowledge of Windows and Linux environments, Active Directory, group policies, and software distribution. Experience with ITIL processes, structured rollout management, and incident handling complete your profile. Very good German language skills are necessary for customer communication.
