SAP R2R (Record to Report) Consultant / SAP FICO Functional Consultant

Project overview

Contract role in Bengaluru for a 5–6 years SAP R2R consultant/functional lead to manage and optimize the Record-to-Report process in SAP. The person will support GL/AP/AR/Asset Accounting and financial reporting, drive month/quarter/year-end close, ensure compliance with controls and GAAP/IFRS-aligned reporting, perform reconciliations and journal entries, and partner with business and IT teams for process improvements. Strong hands-on SAP FI/CO configuration experience across ECC and/or S/4HANA plus solid analytical skills and Excel are expected.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support the Record to Report (R2R) process, which includes General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and financial reporting workflows.
• Ensure accurate, timely preparation and analysis of financial statements and reports
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual closing activities
• Maintain compliance with internal controls, industry regulations, and global/local financial standards
• Drive process improvements and standardization within the R2R framework
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—business stakeholders, IT, procurement, and supply chain—to support continuous process improvement and system optimization
• Perform and manage reconciliations (FR&MR), journal entries, and other general ledger operations

• Hands-on SAP R2R/FICO configuration experience
• General Ledger (GL) processes

• Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and compliance/internal controls
• Cross-functional collaboration (business/IT/procurement/supply chain)
• SAP ECC and/or SAP S/4HANA proficiency
