Technical Product Owner IT Security (Kubernetes, Anti-Malware) Public

Project overview

For our client, we are looking for a Technical Product Owner IT Security (Kubernetes, Anti-Malware) (m/f/d)

Our client, a public institution, is developing a central security solution for its Kubernetes infrastructure: a highly available sidecar solution that scans workloads within pods for malware in real-time without affecting the operation of the main applications. In addition, accompanying processes such as Change Management, Patch Management, Incident Management (incl. Monitoring, Alerting and Incident Response) and IT Quality Management are defined and established in development and operations.

The work is predominantly remote; the assignment begins in November 2026 and runs until 30.04.2027 with an option to extend.

Responsibilities

• Leading the development of the central malware detection service
• Connecting product vision with cross-platform technical implementation
• Ensuring integration into the existing IT architecture together with technical project management
• Gathering, analyzing, documenting, and prioritizing requirements
• Managing and prioritizing the product backlog, defining acceptance criteria, accompanying acceptance
• Structuring, coordinating tasks within the development team and supporting implementation planning
• Tracking implementation progress, identifying dependencies, risks, and blockers
• Coordinating technical and functional collaboration within the team and with interfaces
• Preparing discussions, reviews, and decisions
• Bundling open questions and decision needs and preparing them for decision-makers
• Supporting technical project management in operational project steering (coordination, progress tracking, follow-up of open points)
• Central operational interface between technical project management, enterprise architecture, development, operations, requesters, and other stakeholders

Requirements

• Experience in coordinating and steering IT/development teams
• Experience in structured planning and tracking of work packages
• Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Project Lead in an agile environment
• Very good understanding of IT security
• Knowledge of modern anti-malware technologies
• Good technical understanding of complex, distributed IT infrastructures and service architectures
• Knowledge of Kubernetes
• Documentation and conception skills, presentation techniques, and knowledge transfer methods
• Willingness to undergo security screening Level 2 (Ü2)
• Residence in Germany

Nice to have

Very good German language skills, both written and spoken (at least C1), are required.
